WELCOME
Welcome to the website of Romsey Twinning. Take a tour of our twin towns to find out about our partners on mainland Europe and find out how you can be involved. You can read our most recent newsletters here which will give you a flavour of our activities.
About
Romsey is twinned with three towns, the oldest partnership being with Paimpol, a small fishing port on the north coast of Brittany, established in 1960. This was followed in 1987 with our second partnership with Battenberg, a small town in central Germany. The connection grew from the town being the ancestral home of Romsey's Mountbatten family. The latest partnership was established in 2014 with Treviglio, a town 30km outside Milan in Italy. This developed from a school exchange established with Romsey School in 2003.
Regular exchange visits take place in both directions and Romsey's links with our three twinned towns extend into several additional areas: choirs, sports, theatre and other areas of interest.
Romsey Twinning also run fund raising activities and other social events for members and friends.
We welcome new members from Romsey and the immediate surrounding areas. You do not need to speak another language, or have an existing association with any of our Twinning countries. The fun lies in learning about them through visits and the events we hold.
